West End Bridge Club

♠  ♥  Affiliated to EBU & HIWCBA     ♦

West End Bridge Club exists for the enjoyment of competitive duplicate bridge in a convivial atmosphere. We meet in the Annex of St James’ Church which is at the top of Church Hill on the outskirts of the village, (on the A27 Ring Road). There are two large car parks, one with good wheelchair access, and the hall has disabled toilet facilities.
The club has 72 members at present and the weekly duplicate on Wednesdays attracts an average of 12 tables. Play starts at 7pm and finishes soon after 10pm. Most of our players use the standard ACOL system and we allow conventions up to 'Level 2' as listed in the EBU scheme Orange Book.
Visitors can normally be accommodated but new ones should make prior arrangement. Tea/Coffee & Biscuit is available at half-time.
Local Master Points are issued at Club scale to the top third of the field. EBU members have these directly accredited at the end of each quarter. Detailed scores are usually posted to the Club’s website the same evening. The club participates in many simultaneous competitions during the year. (See Events Calendar)
